I am drooling just thinking about this place. If you are ever in San Diego, you HAVE TO stop by Richard Walker's Pancake House. There is always a line outside but it goes by a lot faster for a party of two as seating is somewhat limited inside. The unfiltered apple juice tastes just like apple cider-I love getting that. The omelettes are light and easy to eat. Everything I've had here is just unbelievably so good!
the breakfast place to go to
the line is seriously this long all the time
unfiltered apple juice...Mmmm
Best Western omelette with broccoli added
chocolate chip pancakes for chocolate lovers
bananas and cream went perfectly with the pecan pancakes
One of El Torito's cadillac margarita flavor creations. Excellent mixture of premium 1800 Reposado Tequila, triple sec, sweet & sour with a side shot of Grand Marnier. You can't even taste the alcohol! Choose from 5 different flavors: blackberry, midori melon, pama pomegranate, wild strawberry, and mango.
Pronounced ah~sigh. I cannot stress the importance of getting your daily dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Your body needs it in order to function properly. And the acai bowl has a great dose of antioxidants.
It is made with exotic berries (acai) from the Amazon, guarana, bananas, and apple juice blended together. Then topped with sliced bananas and organic omega-3 granola. You can even add honey to make it sweeter.
What I like about acai berries are that they have twice the antioxidants of blueberries, packed with fiber, and have a natural energy kick. It's a combination between a yogurt texture and eating cereal. So far the best place to get this acai treat is from Juice It Up.
acai bowl (16oz.) with honey added & granola on the side (secret tip: gradually pour in granola as you eat so they stay crunchier longer)
the one in Fountain Valley has sliced almonds in their granola :)
My BF took me to visit his city where he grew up and we saw this wonderful cafe. We had the Granville salad, Village burger, and Granville's chicken & bleu pizza.
The Mediterranean-inspired salad had Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, feta cheese, red onions, Kalamata olives, grape tomatoes, hint of mint with lemon oregano vinaigrette that was perfectly tossed and flavored. The burger composed of Angus beef, roma tomatoes, arugula, and red onion with their garlic aioli on a buttery brioche bun-this was a little flavorless so we got some of the Granville's chipotle aioli sauce to give it a nice kick. The surprisingly delicious pizza had herbed & grilled chicken and blue cheese with Granville's fig preserve, fontina and mozzarella cheeses, prosciutto, red onions, basil, fresh herbs, and pine nuts, which all together added a little sweetness to it.
I liked this place even more since the food was organic. To top it off, the service was excellent. Next time I'm back in Glendale, I will definitely go here again!
Village burger with caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, and swiss cheese added (i'd swap out the chips for sweet potato fries Mmmm)
