FANCY FRIDAY :: Dressing for an Afternoon Tea Party

9.19.2014

 If you know me by now, then you should know that I love to drink tea, like e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y. Seriously...

The other weekend, my junior high girlfriend (and Fox 11's DC news reporter) Alex had a tea-party-themed baby shower. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon as we all gathered at her mom's place for some sweet tea, girl chat, and baby games. Since it was such a hot day, a hat was necessary and this red one from Dynamic Asia kept me a little cooler as it blocked off some sun rays from hitting me. I wanted to pair it with something airy (aka to let more breeze come through) and this white lace maxi fit the occasion (also worn for my 13 year anniversary HERE). Tea parties are for dressing up in playful hats and ladylike pieces in a casual setting with friends and family. Now who wouldn't like that?

Congrats on having a baby boy Alex - I'm so happy for you! Now give me a couple more years and it'll be my turn. ;)

{FASHION TIP: Fun sun hats make for the perfect tea party accessory.}

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
