Now that it's May, spring is fully in session...

Not only is it my birthday month {yay} but there are SO many good things happening in May! The Mister's father's birthday is also this month, so is Mother's Day, a couple of our friends are May babies too, plus there's also Memorial Day weekend. Lot of things to plan this month, right?! But first, I want to share 3 things I love about spring.

#1 :: the rise of flowers
Past the cold weather months, throw on some sunshine, and then you'll start to see flowers blooming. This to me feels like the first signs of spring saying hello. Anyone have a green thumb? Teach me your ways!
P.S. If you haven't gone already, check out the Flower Fields in Carlsbad before it closes this weekend. It's floral heaven.

#2 :: the coming of pastels 
As we transition out of the dark winter colors, we slowly make our way to more lighter and brighter colors. Cause who doesn't love a little hue in their lives? Especially when it's pastels like this Banana Republic lilac blazer! It's like a softer, feminine version of the color purple and I love how it compliments the outfit without overdoing it.

#3 :: the warmer weather
If you know me then you know I don't do good in the cold. I kid you not, I was probably wearing a sweater under my cardigan with a jacket over that at times. So with the warmer temperatures, we don't have to wear as many layers and my body is happy for that! One good jacket (or blazer) can keep you going throughout the day.
