Welcome to my first beauty review for 2014! I'm pretty excited about this because it has been something that I've been wanting to add to my blog for a while now, perhaps even months. Every time I wanted to start it, something else came up. So with the new year I thought to myself, no more excuses, no more distractions, let's do this already! And here it is: my first review for the cruelty-free and vegan line Nubar nail lacquer in brothel red...
When I received the Wild West Collection and Glow It top coat from Nubar (thanks Erica!), I was stoked!
#1) It came in the coolest package.

With all the holidays that just passed, I automatically went for the color red - or, in this case, the color brothel. Shades of red are my go-to choice when trying to spice up an outfit. Why? Because you can never go wrong with red nails, that's why! Just trust me on it. ;)
A little shake of the bottle and two coats later...voila! Nails did and done! I like how Nubar's brothel nail polish color came out thick and a couple coats were all that were needed. Sometimes I have to do like 3 or 4 coats with other nail polishes (which can be very annoying when I quickly want my nails to dry) but Nubar's polish went on very smoothly and easily. It was the perfect shade of red - not too bright, not too dark - and had a shimmer finish to it.
OVERALL VERDICT: Not sure if it's because the Nubar nail lacquer line is PETA certified and carcinogenic free, but the smell of the polish isn't as strong or potent as others (which is a plus). These 0.5 fl oz. bottles cost $8 each and some of them come in a set of 8 polishes for $56 (making it $7/bottle instead, score!). Unfortunately, the Wild West Collection for Fall 2013 is now out of stock (sorry for the late review, I'll be faster next time); however, do go ahead and check out Nubar's Risqu Collection for other shades of red polishes. The Nubar site has so many color options, you'll definitely find a nail lacquer that you'll like. Give it a try and let me know which Nubar nail lacquer was your favorite. I'd love to know! :)
