18 Years Later & Still Strong as Ever #TKfirstlove

6.09.2019

Can't believe we've known each other for this long, let alone dated this long...
It's shocking to think that we've been together for 18 years now. I mean, we could've had an adult kid by now (haha)! We've seen each other in good times, in bad times, and everything in between. You name it, we've pretty much experienced it. And I think going through it all - while growing up together - challenged us in more ways than we'd ever thought possible. But that's the thing, in those tough times, you can either face them or run away from it. I'm glad we decided to face it and overcome them together. Now it feels we've gone through it ALL that by the time we said our vows (for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer), we knew that time has tested us on all this before and we still stood by each other's sides. That's what you want to look for in a partner. It's not just someone to be with "right now" in this chapter of your life but someone who will go through any of life's challenges with you. As I say to him often, he's my partner for life. Cause, truthfully, the road isn't always smooth. You will have disagreements and you'll need to be able to compromise. To also learn from each other and forgive as well. And the funny thing is, after overcoming each struggle, you grow more love and respect for one another. That's where I feel now. We've gone through so much that I have a deeper sense of respect, admiration, and love for him. I feel blessed every day and take lots of moments to enjoy our time together. Sounds corny but true. 18 years later and I'm still madly in love with him! Happy 18 years anniversary to us!

Well, those are my two cents on a having a long relationship (haha). Keep on scrolling to see some of our photos from our Paris trip last month.
