Earlier this month I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Megan's Wings 2011 Charity Benefit. Megan's wings is a non-profit organization in memory of Megan Savage who, at the young age of 9, lost her battle to Leukemia in 2003. The Megan's Wings organization was created to provide assistance to families with a child undergoing cancer treatments in Southern California.

This year's Megan's Wings charity event was held at the Kettle One Vodka headquarters located in Irvine, CA. My dear friend, Michael, is one of the Board members so Michael Diep (inventor of Emery Cat), Mindy, and I all went together to show our support. I was very happy to see so many people dedicate their time and offer incredible donations towards a great cause. Tom Hoff, a three-time Olympian and captain of the U.S. Men's volleyball team, was there and he let me wear his actual gold medal he won from the 2008 Olympics at Beijing! It was only for a couple seconds but that was pretty exciting for me. I also got to meet Paul, creator of the American Woods Iron Golf Clubs, who was so nice and asked if I modeled. haha only for my blog lol

I enjoy going to these events and would like to [hopefully] one day to be the position to make a huge positive impact on others. In our busy everyday lives, it's important to remember to give back.
