Visiting The Montserrat + Wine Tasting in Spain

For one of the days, we decided to venture outside the main city of Barcelona, Spain. So we took a tour bus for approximately 45 minutes to the Montserrat, a monastery situated over 4,000 feet in the mountains (also where the popular Black Madonna can be found)! At the top, you'll see an incredible view of Catalonia city. Definitely stop and enjoy this moment. From there, we were taken to the Royal Basilica of Montserrat and learned more about the history of this beautiful church. Standing in the atrium courtyard, you can't help but to look around and be amazed at your surroundings. Every little thing was made in detail.

{TRAVEL TIP: Bring some extra euros to buy some cheeses from local artisans on your way out of the Montserrat.}

After that tour, we headed out to a 10th Century Castle, Oller del Mas, for a wine tour and wine tasting. Did you know that the flavor of the wine depends on how the season is during that particular year? There are no two wine years alike. Hence why some people may prefer a specific year over others. After a tour of the vineyard, we sampled red wines complimented with tapas. Our travel guide for the day was such a great host! We all enjoyed this wine tour and definitely the wine tasting part as well. I highly recommend trying this out the next time you're in Spain!

{FASHION TIP: You'll be outside for part of the tour so don't forget to pack your sunglasses!}
