Let's Get Social in Costa Mesa

Cause dinners are meant to mix and mingle...



Last week, the fiance and I dined at SOCIAL Costa Mesa and it left our palettes very satisfied. Dinners (besides brunch) may be my next favorite meals. We tend to indulge, relax, and take time to get social with our company. I just love it! Read below for the fiance's recap of our favorite dishes (which were pretty much all of them!).

{Burrata raviolini} A citrus butter sauce with walnut pesto gave a good crunchy texture to the dish. The burrata filling created a nice, smooth creaminess where the sweet & sour kumquat balanced the richness of the dish. Probably my favorite dish of the night!

{Foie gras} This off-the-menu item came with freeze dried strawberries and brioche toast. The fruitiness of the strawberry, rhubarb, and raspberry sauce paired well with the decadence of the foie gras, almost like a savory dessert.

{Branzini special of the day} This fish came out whole and was de-boned tableside. It was tender with a glaze that gave a crispy texture. The citrus added a hint of sweetness and tartness to balance the flavors. 

{Rib-eye special of the day} Our ribeye was served medium rare, pre-sliced (which makes it a lot easier to eat), topped with Demi-glacĂ© with a side of fingerling potatoes, and cooked in an oil-infused bone marrow sauce which gave the skin a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. 

{Cinnamon & Sugar Donuts} These bite-sized donuts with horchata glaze came with vanilla ice cream. This sweet combo was almost reminiscent of a churro and who doesn't like churros?!

And last, but definitely not least, are their crafted cocktails. I got the "social fling" (pictured above) and "princess bride" (pictured here) cocktails (the fiance got his signature old fashioned) and they were all super delicious! Definitely a great spot to come to if you're just looking for some great concoctions.
