Breast Cancer Awareness

10.01.2010

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I want to take a moment to bring attention to this distressing disease. Did you know that breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer that women are getting more and more of nowadays? Not only that but men can also get this disease as well. With the increasing number of people being diagnosed, it does not have to mean an end but a hope for a cure.

I'm pretty sure we all know at least one person who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I do so this subject is very personal to me. Ever since I was young, I've felt that being aware and informed are my preventive steps in reducing the chances of getting breast cancer. Therefore I encourage everyone to educate themselves on finding more information. The best thing to do is learn more about risk factors, know the signs & symptoms, develop an early detection plan, and conduct self breast exams. Knowledge is power. Spread it.
