New York 2011: Top of Rock

The past two years we went to the top of the Empire State Building to see the NYC night lights. This year we decided to do something different and try Top of Rock.

During our first NYC trip we literally got to see snow fall from the top of the Empire State Building. Seriously. The experience was surreal and unbelievable: there was no snow above us except clouds and below us we could see snow forming. Insane right? It was like an adrenaline rush because we were so amazed. Silly of us I know, but please note that snow doesn't fall from the sky in California so we love it every time we visit New York (even though it's super cold and we're freezing our butts off haha).

Then the second time at Empire, we caught the view of the city during sunset. The panoramic view is absolutely breathtaking. And the colors? Gorgeous. You just have to see it for yourself. I will post pictures from my past NYC trips when I get the chance so you can kind of see what I got to see.

This year atop the Rock, we were able to make it for sunset as well and this time we got to see the Empire State Building. Looking at it from afar reminded me of our first trip when we got to see snow fall from the sky. I really did get flashbacks up there and from my experience, there is nothing like the Empire State Building. I don't know if it was because it was our first time or that we got VIP treatment or that it's a taller building (I think) but the feeling of being up there is...indescribable. A must-do on my list for anyone visiting NYC.
