It's tradition.
Every year Jud and I go to our local Strawberry Festival for one reason only. No, it's not for the rides or games or even the fancy carnival food. It's for this one dessert: strawberry shortcakes. There's a slice of shortcake at the bottom of the bowl with ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream piled on top. I'm not a crazy fan of too many strawberries but I do like the combination flavors of the ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries slightly soaked into the shortcake. Mmmm...not too bad I must say. It was a pretty good way to enjoy the sunny day. Hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend!
