Got a New Camera!

4.05.2012

I've been having some technical difficulties with my Canon S95 digicam so I finally decided to bring it into Best Buy this past weekend for repair. Good thing the bf knows me pretty well and my clumsyness with cameras (hey hey, breaking 3 cameras within 4 months IS possible). SO, when he got me the Canon S95 camera (last May for my birthday), he also got a 2 year warranty with it. THANK GOODNESS FOR WARRANTIES! When I brought my camera into Best Buy, they checked it out and gave me an upgrade to the new Canon S100 digicam! That totally surprised me but I'm not going to complain. Apparently the S95 version is now discontinued and they didn't have any in stock so I got the new version. Sounds like a sweet deal to me!

Moral of the story: 1) Always get a warranty on your camera - it's worth it! I recommend at least one year [most cameras don't last longer than a year if you like to use and abuse the camera a lot] but if you can get two years then that's better and 2) Keep your camera purchase receipt AND warranty receipt! For some reason Best Buy was only able to find the warranty receipt in their system so I had to go home and find my original receipt (do you know how hard it is to find a receipt from a year ago? Almost impossible). From my personal experiences with cameras, adding the Best Buy warranty is a great investment, especially when it covers everything under the sun (except total destruction, i.e. if it gets run over by a car). If you are in the market for a camera and happen to be looking at Best Buy, remember to keep these tips in mind. As for me, I can't live without my camera so you'll rarely see me without my baby cam cam. It's stuck to me like glue! ;)

Sending love,

P.S. FYI since I had a two year warranty on the S95, Best Buy prorated the rest of the warranty rate and applied it to my new 2-year warranty with the S100. Not too shabby...came into Best Buy with an S95 and left with a new S100. I was definitely more than joyful haha
