Style Week OC x Celebrity Cruises

It's back: Style Week OC marks the beginning of fall...

Each September Style Week OC hosts a week long schedule of events to celebrate the upcoming season. From in-store parties to trend presentations, it's all about celebrating fall fashion. In case you missed it, don't worry I have a recap to share with you! The other Saturday I attend the VIP lounge and evening fashion show with some blogger friends at Fashion Island (see previous one at the Irvine Spectrum HERE). The VIP lounge, hosted by Orange Coast Magazine and sponsor Celebrity Cruises, was a relaxing place to try some of the tasty cocktails and delicious food from the local vendors (what a nice little pre-show treat!). As usual, Project Runway alum and fashion designer Nick Verreos hosted the fashion show and he was quite hilarious and entertaining leaving you with smiles on your face. The beginning of the show started off with a special contest where 4 selected graduate students from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) showcased their innovative designs incorporating the Celebrity Cruises "Modern Luxury" lifestyle concept. Next began the fashion show featuring the hottest fall trends with items picked from local shops at the mall including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Halston, Neiman Marcus, and Bebe. At the end of the show, was the announcement of the winning FIDM design. It was a tough competition but the outfit with the flowing open skirt just mesmerized everyone as it walked down the runway. A surprise bonus? The skirt was also removable - genius. It was another fun time at Style Week OC and I'll be back again next year!

What's your favorite fall trend? From this show I see a lot of black, white, and textured pieces. I'm loving the element of layering for this season! Now the OC just needs to get a little cooler.

{FASHION TIP: You don't have to change your entire wardrobe each season, just add a couple key trend pieces.}
