It's finally starting to feel like summer y'all!...
Boy, that June gloom really hit us hard last month, didn't it? Is it me or has this been the c-o-l-d-e-s-t summer ever so far? The weather has been acting so weird! But, thank goodness, it looks like we are moving on from the gloominess and heading towards more sunny days (crossing fingers!). Hope you are enjoying every moment of it. In the mean time, here's a look back at my ATK Monthly Faves for June 2019.

STYLE :: Ruffled Dresses
Lately, I've been getting more and more obsessed with all things feminine including ruffles! The more, the better in my book (haha). So when I attended a wedding with the Mister, this little gem that's been hiding in my closet for years finally got to go out to play! I love how the ruffles go from the top of the dress to all the way to the bottom; it even has ruffles in the back! Since it was a pretty light shade of blue, I thought I'd bring the color out more by styling it with a darker, bolder blue pair of heels. Plus, the Mister was wearing a navy suit and I couldn't resist the chance to match with him (hehe).

BEAUTY :: Maya Brenner Jewelry's 20th Anniversary Party, Los Angeles

 I don't really go to LA events anymore but, damn, am I glad I went here! Maya Brenner took over the Firehouse hotel in downtown LA to throw a HUGE 20th anniversary bash including bites, sweets, DIY flower necklaces, braid bar, makeup bar, sticker mani's, and even massages! Each room at this boutique hotel was decorated differently with its own separate color theme (super cute, if you plan to stay here and some even comes with the Smeg fridge). With each room, we got to learn the history and journey that Maya went threw as she grew her jewelry line that she first started in her very own home. Maya Brenner's jewelry line is known for its dainty pieces that's perfect for layering or wearing on its own and makes for a great gift idea too (especially if you're looking for birthdays, bridal parties, etc.). She's collaborated with many other designers (like Stella & Dot) and her jewels are popular among many celebrities. It's amazing to see her progress and how much she is cherished and adored today. So proud of her and also love that she was a fellow Social Worker (YAY).

FOOD :: 3 Course Dinner Deal at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Irvine
On June 9th, it was officially our 18 years dating anniversary. I know, we could've had an adult kid by now (haha). Since it happened to fall on a Sunday, we actually spent the day working together at the shop Polar Playground. So we celebrated it on our next day off on Monday. We decided to dine at Ruth Chris Steakhouse because it's always been one of our favorite places for steak and we haven't been there in awhile. We each order a 3 course dinner meal (price ranges from around $40-60) where the Mister got ribeye steak and I got the surf & turf (filet mignon & lobster tail). I love how their steaks come out on hot plates with some melted butter on top - OMG. The meal also came with salad and choice of 1 side each. To top it off, the Mister ordered his strawberry cheesecake to-go {fun fact: I don't like raw strawberries, I don't like cheesecake} and I got their banana cream pie. DELISH - order this one instead, trust!

TRAVEL :: London, United Kingdom
Well, technically we went to London in May but I think I was so pooped out and jet lagged that there was no energy left to travel in June. Plus, I was busy with weekly birthday dinners (since I left the country for my birthday) that there wasn't even time to plan any quick getaways. So here's a quick snap from one of the fun moments we had in London. We stayed in the Covent Garden area and I just LOVED how there were flower arches e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. OBSESSED!

LIFE :: Catching the Premiere of Big Little Lies
Season 1 of Big Little Lies was INTENSE you guys, like seriously. So when HBO invited me to attend their Season 2 premiere at the Equinox in Irvine, it was a no-brainer for me to attend and I was so happy Judith could join. The event took place on the rooftop of Equinox and they had a taco station, ice cream bar, photo booth, massages, and palm reading activities. They also provided cozy blankets and ear phones so we could stay warm while watching the premiere of the 1st episode of Season 2. I don't want to spoil anything for my Big Little Lies fans out there but this is a great show that sheds light on the struggles that women can face while trying to "keep it together" when life throws curve balls at you. If you haven't started watching this HBO show on Sunday nights yet, it's not too late! You can totally still catch up. ;)

How has your summer been kicking off?

Now that we've gotten more sunshine, I feel like this OC gal's mood has been a lot happier. :) As always, thanks for reading and sending you hugs!
