Spring Self-Care Ideas

4.09.2022

{This post was sponsored by Providence Health System, opinions are of my own - thank you!}

The leaves are changing, the weather’s getting warmer, and you know what that means.
Spring is here friends! The best part: longer days with the sun shining outside later with the time change.

It’s no doubt that the weather can effect our moods so each season it’s good to do a self
check-in. How are you feeling? Do you notice any body changes? What brings you more joy?

To help get in the mood for spring - and to mentally tell our mind and body that it’s a new season for a new start - I partnered with Providence Health System to share some self-care ideas for spring! #ProvidencePartner By doing different things each season, it signals our mind that something fresh is happening which gives us something to look forward to next. Some people like to go see snow or do snow activities during winter and that is what brings them joy during that season. What about spring?

I’ve got you covered! Here are 5 self-care activities you can do this spring season:
1 :: GO OUTDOORS.
Take a walk or hike or bike. Or even grab some coffee/tea/boba with friends. Just get
some fresh air outside - it’ll give you an energy boost and sense of calmness to be with
nature.
2 :: DO SOME SPRING CLEANING.
There’s something so refreshing (and also hard to let go but it’s a must sometimes)
about cleaning your home and getting rid of things that don’t bring you joy anymore. It’s
like a cleanse for your house to remove any negative energy.
3 :: MAKE SEASONAL DISHES.
You know how much you love certain dishes at Thanksgiving? Well, why not make
something for spring? Each season brings different fruits and vegetables that are limited
just for those few months. Some spring seasonal fruits and vegetables include apricots,
broccoli, cranberries, produce kiwi, pineapple, radish, rhubarb, strawberries, and
turnips. Create a special dish highlighting one of these produce or add it to your favorite smoothie to give it a twist!
4 :: Create a floral bouquet or add a new house plant.
Every time I think of this season, spring blooms come to mind. Buy your favorite flowers
or create your own bouquet. Adding this to your home just brightens the mood, gives a
pop of color, and hint of floral scent. There’s also seasonal spring flowers too! Check out
tulips, daffodil, peonies, hyacinth, buttercup, hydrangea, sunflower, freesia, lily of the
valley, snapdragons, and primrose to name a few. Not into flowers? No problem, there
are so many cool house plants which are easy to care for low-light tolerant, and helps to freshen the air in your home.
5 :: Take time for yourself.
Do something, just for yourself. Whether it’s journaling, meditating, gardening, editing
your daily tasks, doing yoga, catching the sunset, or changing up your skin care routine,
find some time to honor yourself and your body. When we take care of our home (mind and body), we feel more prepared to take on the day.

What are you looking to do more of this spring?

I absolutely love flowers and trying to incorporate them more in my life so I’ve started
giving floral bouquets and house plants as birthday gifts and it makes me so happy to
gift them to people I care about. We usually don’t get flowers or plants often nowadays
and this is an easy way to celebrate someone and show you care. Plus I love how
there’s so many different color and floral/plant options to choose from so it helps me to
be creative too. Aaaaand, spring is also my birthday month (in May) so looking forward to that. ;)

As always, thanks for reading and sending air hugs!
